BLACK QUEEN

Am I supposed to stand here and ask “Aint I a woman?”

Well I won’t.

That was Sojourner’s Truth, not mine. It’s not like you can’t  tell I’m a woman? Right? Or is my skin too dark, and not light enough according to your European oriented standards.

I shall not overcome because I have already overcame, that is why you can understand me. I am above you all, because I know why the cage bird sings. Who do you think was there to witness Uncle Sam give Uncle Tom his 40 acres and a mule surrounded by hundreds of trees that bore strange fruit? Who was slapped and shackled the hardest with the religious book of restraint that our oppressors used to justify them raping and pillaging our land and keeping us enslaved? Who?

Me of course, but you’ll never know it because of what the world tells you. The world tells me to be pretty. So I try. Hair weaves to look more European and nails done by Koreans, I am starting to look a little less and less like a human being.

My anti-Anglo Saxon thighs and anti-white hips that are too wild, I mean wide, stretch far beyond the limits of your imagination. No, I didn’t say Beyonce. Please pay attention, my eyes are here, exactly where they’re supposed to be, not in my ass.

I don’t blame your sexist racist eyes for wandering, the world has reduced me into nothing more than a Nicki Minaj, a modern day Sarah Baartman, but I refuse to tell them to kiss my black ass. I have too much class.

My blossoming bosom and my black girl backside wield the power to heal the world. My curves induce jungle fever, while I sometimes suffer from the dreadful angry black girl syndrome. I am sick. And there’s no cure, because even just a little black makes you black, and a little less pure.

My skin is a tone of a Majestic mahogany, a Completely Complex Carmel complexion, Beautiful and Black and full of Boldness, Sun blessed from birth, No tan needed, a Symbol of Strength and perseverance, Say it loud I’m Black and I’m Proud. But why do I have to be loud? As always, Loud and Ghetto, right? As if ghetto was an adjective and not a noun. You stupid idiot.  As if ghetto meant low class and not hell.

You know what? I am ghetto. And I am the black female Jesus. I am Atlas holding the world in my fist. And sometimes, sometimes, I am someone resisting to exist. I am nothing. I am a mockery. I am funny. I am an obnoxious fat black girl from the hood.  FYI I’m not really fat but we’re all fat according to America. I am everything but something good. I am the modern day BLACK queen.

Update: Drake's New Music Coming Soon

Recently, Drake revealed in a interview with VIBE, that he plans to drop new music in the upcoming month. He wants to release the "Wu-Tang Forever Remix", "Trophies", and some other special tracks. I just fell in love with NWTS, now Drake just out for my soul releasing new music. Drake's already teased "Trophies" on tour and talked about why it didn't make the final cut of the album; to make sure it pefect for his fans.

This Upcoming Saturday, Novermber 30th, Blaze-A-Nickel and Spring Hill Presents NC SHOWTIME. The show will exhibit live performaces from the Hip Hop duo Wreck-N-Crew, Scienze, Lazurus, and MEA's Bobby James. The show will be hosted at The Pinhook in Durham and hosted by The Real Laww. Kontroversial Kanye West strikes again and releases a steamy video with his love, Kim Kardashian for Yeezus' "Bound 2". The video features Kardashian riding on West's motorcycle, plus a simulated sex scene as wild horses run in the background. I love this sample very much. News: Lauryn Hill New Tour

This Thanksgiving Eve, Miss Lauryn Hill will kick off her new tour with her first-post prison show. HOW EXCITING! Earlier this year, the former Fugees member was released from prison on October 4 after doing three months for tax evasion. A U.S. Magistrate Court Judge granted Hill permission to tour before she is put on house arrest at the end of the year.

The day of her release from prison, Hill released a song called "Consumerism" which was a follow up on "Neurotic Society Compulosry Mix". You should expect to hear those songs played during her tour.

Movie Trailer: Need for Speed Movie

If you know me personally, I have an eye for luxury high-speed cars and street racing. So I have to share the movie trailer for the Need for Speed movie that is in theaters March 2014. Need for Speed is based off the car racing game, if you been under a rock since 94'. Movie directed by stuntman-turn-director Scott Waugh, you can expect open road craziness, real car stunts, and some neat locations. Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, Kid Cudi, Michael Keaton, and Imogen Poots also star in the movie.

Young Money has signed everyone. seriously. They recently signed Rob Dyrdek's side kick-turned-rapper, Chanel West Coast. Dropping this luxurious track "Karl" from her debut mixtape, Now You Know. CWC seems like a ditzy white girl on TV, but in this video, she is straight boss. "Karl" is a tribute to Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld and also dresses like him in the video.

Video: Drake - Worst Behavior

Drake releases a visual for "Worst Behavior" from NWTS. I think I can give Drake the best videos of 2013. This dope visual was co directed by Drizzy and his fellow Canadian friend Director X and located in Memphis, Tenn. The videofeatures appearances from rappers Juicy J and Project Pat, along with a hilarious pimp cameo from Drake's father, Dennis Graham. Drake's hilarious friends, Ryan Silverstein and O'Brien (also in " "Started from the Bottom") are also in the video being comical.

Harleewood: Being a Host

This past wednesday, I got the opportunity to be the host for Povic Nation's Hip Hop series part 2. The artists performing that night were The cool duo - The Koolest, The talented Jay Ro'se, The Turnt to the MAX Privy, the Dope Ty Harriz, The Smooth Swagg Jones and the Unique Brassious Monk. The turn out was great. It was bigger than the week before. My promotion had to do something with that. To be exact, I think this show has and will have the best promotion by me and the artists. I don't care if its true, I know it is. I couldnt ask for a better group of males musicians to be my guests.

Anyways

I was nervous as crap. I haven't host anything since my junior year in High school, which feels like 78 years ago. So yes, I was nervous and I didn't have a support team to say "You got this." So I was winging it. I had my note cards ready and I hung out with Rome prior, so he helped a lot. I wanted to be the best host, even tho Domo or Amino Lo hasn't host yet. I didn't want to be lame or somebody throw tomatoes at my dress.

After the first couple words were spoken. My nervous began to grow to confidence. I was like fuck it, I got the mic, everybody has to listen to me. Nyck Newz helped me a lot with the cosigns here and there. I also did a mini interview with Irap and I hate being interviewed. I did it for the NC Hip Hop, gotta represent. I guess I have to brand myself whenever and where ever I can.

I enjoyed it. I hope Povic invites me again. Thank you Povic and My lovely males performers.

I know a Kanye beat when I hear one. Kanye West and Hudson Mohawke produced this deep hit "Hold On" Pusha T and Rick Ross hook up in this gloomy visual speaking to the hustlers in the streets. The video is directed by Dre Films, of course.




Pusha and Ross are a great match together. They compliment each other well.

Revolt TV, Diddy Station, catch some footage of Wu-Tang performing on their 20th Anniversary tour. . See, I need to start going to tours and concerts. They got hip to Tupac and got a ODB hologram. That would've been cool to witness, even though I think holograms are creepy.

Harleewood: "The Shee" Project

I stay trying to do something. So my newest project is "The Shee". The Shee is like Girlcode but I guess you can say just locally and with me. I will get 4 to 5 females, your peers, to discuss some topics, from anything from males to what color goes with what to the nightlife. I think this should be quite entertaining. I already have 2 females interested to speaking with me. So I am looking for 2 more (Contact me) I will post this discussion on ustream live and pick the highlights to be a youtube video. Depending on the success of this project, I will do a "The He" with my males. I'll have to prepare myself for that mentally, men are savages.

Where is Keith Murray? Seriously. 1/3 of the Def Squad's first single of his debut album The Most Beautifullest Thing in This World. This single was released in 94' and produced by other member Erick Sermon. This song is probably his most successful single to date just because it was about me. (hehe)

Flashback: Redman - Tonight Da Night

One of my favorite songs by the Newark rapper. "Tonight da Night" released in 93' off of Redman's debut album Whut? Thee Album. This was the real deal. Produced by Erick Sermon and himself  with samples from "All Night Long" by the Mary Jane Girls, "The Payback" by James Brown, "Tonights the Night" by Radio, "A few more Kisses to go" by Issac Hayes.  Not only did Redman took part in the production, he also wrote the song with J. Stone and the legendary Rick James. Redman starts off smooth on this jazzy beat and get interrupted by Hurricane G and change it to up a bit.
